Keri diving at Sharks Cove on North shore Chillin with turtle at Sharks Cove This diving stuff is too easy. Randy, Dave and Jenne hiking up the ridge on the way to camp at the top of the Kaluanui stream. Dave jumping off the 2nd waterfall. Randy leaping off the 2nd waterfall. Jenne rappelling down the third waterfall. Randy leaping off the top of the third waterfall. View of 3rd waterfall from the bottom (about 80 feet in height). Dave jumped off of this. Dave leaping off the top of the 3rd waterfall. Randy Heading down stream toward bigger waterfalls. 4th waterfall from the top. The stream did a U-turn to the right so we climbed over the small ridge and descended on the other side near the 5th waterfall. Merlin on the 5th waterfall drop (about 110 feet in height). All four of us at the bottom of the 5th waterfall. The top of the big drops where the canyon opens up. Merged the two photos to get view of the whole 300 foot drop. Randy rappelling down the waterfall. That's me. I got the photo. Time to start the ascent back up the all the waterfalls. Randy made it. Down and back up this 300 foot waterfall then another 400 feet of waterfall climbs. Randy starting a long ascent back up the waterfall. Dave dropping off the big 300 foot waterfall. Jenne dropping off the big 300 foot waterfall. Dave and Jenn getting geared up while the clouds roll in. Dave ascending the 5th waterfall. Jenne ascending up the 5th waterfall. Scattered clouds accompanied us on our treck home. Pool at the bottom of the 300 foot waterfall. Sarah Mcmains coming across a steep portion of the trail. The trail climbs up and along this ridge - all the way up.
The next two photo are of people on the lower portion of the ridge trail. Tailee and Rachel heading down the trail on the descending portion of the trail. Upper potion of the ridge. The trail drops off the first ridge top at the last saddle (center of the photo) and continues up the one to the right. The trail continues gradually descend over a series of steep saddles.
(Merlin overlooking the trail down.) The end of the trail as it descends down to Kam Hwy on the left or Crouching Lion Restaurant on the right. Trail overgrowth while ascending up after the waterflow.
As of summer of 2006 it has been cut and easy enough to follow without too much difficulty. Kauhi (Crouching Lion) Ridge Trail Dave and Jenne on the Kauhi (Crouching Lion) ridge Trail.
White speck = Jenne, Blue Speck=Dave Nola reaching 1200 feet elevation. Precious Jared at Puaena Point, Halewia The master (right) and the apprentice (left) Jared makes it look so easy. Randy's got the skills for pulling off the stunts. Not much for skills but I got the basics down. Finishing a ride at left-overs on North shore Jared carving at Puaena point in Halewia Lacey on the Hauula Ridge Trail Jason at Puaena Point in Haleiwa Evan at Puaena Point in Haliewa Jenne! Honestly, does it get any better than this. Pretty wicked eh...That's how the Ranster flows.
