Ma'akua Gulch, also known as, Seven Falls consists of a series of waterfalls that run down a gulch or ravine in Haula. We're unsure where the name seven falls came from, but my friends and I identified at least 15 distinct waterfalls in the canyon ranging from 20 to 86 feet in height.
The trail is closed to the public due to the frequent accidents of people falling while trying to climb the waterfalls. (The only way to get up and down the canyon is to climb the waterfalls). Many of the falls have a rocky bottom instead of a pool which makes the climb extremely dangerous without proper gear.
Unless you have climbing rope, harnesses, rapelling hardware, and experience as a climber do not try this activity. Click here for photographs of this activity
