I love this site and as I was going through I saw the Malaekahana Falls and decided that I was going to try and hike it today when to my dismay I found a barbed-wire fence blocking the entrance to the hike.

This is a tough trail to get started on. A few of my buddies have done it very recently, I'm sure it's still open to the public. If you can find someone who's done it before and could perhaps accompany you.
