A group of us hiked the Crouching Lion Ridge trail last weekend. I was greatly impressed with the improved quality of the trail. In the Activities page I mentioned that a portion of the trail was overgrown and difficult to follow. That part of the trail has since been cleared (as of summer of 2006). It's still thick with ferns and other vegetation and, unless they continue to maintain it, will eventually overgrow the trail again. As for now it's easy enough to follow.
I was overwelmed (as usual on this trail) with the sheer height of the ridge. It's probably the most dangerous (for falling) trail I've found and hiked on the island. Check out This Photo of Sarah on the trail to get a small idea of the falling risk. In many places the rocks under the trail are cracked and loose and I wonder what has changed since the earthquake two days ago. The is definetely a trail for the more advanced hikers.

Oh Merlin, Whenever I don't want to do my homework I come and reminisse in the time's I spent doing crazy things with you. I hate to admit it but I'm still a little sore from Sat. (not to mention I'm still finding sand in my ear from our after hike swim) But don't you worry, a few more hikes like that and I'll be ready for the summit in no time.

Looks like it was a blast. I'm totally jealous. Congrats on making the summit! Kira
